Tucked along the banks of the Patuxent River in Hollywood, Maryland, this charming cottage serves as a weekend retreat for its owners — and our job was to transform it into a true second home worthy of its setting.

We remodeled the property inside and out, starting with a 30' x 24' two-story addition that significantly expanded the home's living space while staying true to its cottage character. To round out the property, we built a 28' x 36' two-story, two-car garage, giving the owners generous storage and workspace for everything a waterfront getaway demands.

The centerpiece of the project is the new maintenance-free decking, positioned to take full advantage of sweeping 180-degree views of the Patuxent River. Built with low-maintenance materials, the deck lets the owners spend their weekends enjoying the water — not sanding, staining, or sealing.
