Room Addition

"It all started last fall (2009) when I was setting at the island in our old kitchen which doubled as my office. I was tired of walking around the island and bumping into the other counters to get from one side of the kitchen to the other. All of a sudden the big light came on; Why not expand the kitchen and include enough space for an office for me. I grabbed my tape measure, walked out to the patio and started measuring, the more I measured, the bigger it got. When I was done I figured that an additional 20′ x 30′ should be adequate. Now all I had to do was convince my wife. Well, much to my surprise she had also been thinking that we should expand the kitchen. Actually, she was really tired of me using the island as my office.

We both figured the next step would be the most difficult; finding a builder. As it turned out, it was one of the easiest parts, as soon as I met Chris Turner I knew he was the one that we would choose. He listened, measured, suggested, and then said no problem. My wife and I expressed our concern with having plans drawn up, Chris once again said no problem, he would do it and make sure that the county (Charles) would accept them. It was almost too good to be true. However, as soon as you meet Chris you will understand; he is very professional and so easy to work with. While our addition was being built, Chris made sure we were as comfortable as possible. There was one point in time where the only thing between the old kitchen and the shell for the new one was a tarp. When Chris said he was going to be here, he was. If he said his contractors were going to be here, they were.
